Henrikh Mkhitaryan back in Arsenal training before Manchester United FA Cup clash

Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be in contention to face his former team-mates at Manchester United as he moves closer to a return from a four-week absence. Arsenal expect Mkhitaryan to be back in full training before their FA Cup clash next Friday, as the midfielder continues his recovery from a foot injury. The Armenian has been out of action since December 19 after fracturing a metatarsal in his right foot in their Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham after colliding with Lucas Moura. Arsenal had initially anticipated that the 29-year-old would miss all of their January schedule, but the club confirmed on Thursday that Mkhitaryan should be back training with the squad after Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Chelsea. In Mkhitaryan’s absence, the Gunners have won just two of their five league matches and sit six points behind fourth-placed Chelsea. Arsenal also confirmed that Rob Holding (knee) and Danny Welbeck (ankle) are continuing their recovery from long-term injuries.
