Granada’s Agbo eager to shine in Balogun’s absence

The defender says he anxious to impress in the Super Eagles jersey if he gets his chance against the Chipolopolo in Ndola on Sunday
Granada’ Uche Agbo is eager to justify his national team call-up in Sunday’s World Cup qualifier against Zambia.
After injury had ruled out Mainz’s Leon Balogun, Rohr turned to the former Nigeria U20 midfielder to fill the void and he is eager to prove himself on his first international call-up.
“I feel very good and happy being in camp and looking to more training sessions with the Super Eagles,” Agbo told media.
“I’m glad and good playing in the central defence position now and doing my best and hoping to do more.
“I saw it as a blessing in disguise playing in that position and been invited to the Super Eagles as a central defender. Is good for me and my career and ready to prove myself,” he concluded.
The 20-year-old who previously featured for the country’s 2013 Fifa U20 World Cup in Turkey as a midfielder is now hoping to earn his international debut against Zambia.
