As part of activities to mark the second anniversary in office as the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced plans to inaugurate several landmark projects aimed at advancing healthcare, tourism, and economic development in the state.
The governor made the announcement during the May edition of the Government House Monthly Covenant Service held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, on Friday.
Among the major projects to be flagged off are a 200-bed Ibom International Hospital, a 5,000-seater Ibom International Convention Centre, and a 200-bed Ibom Hotel.
These developments, Governor Eno stated, are designed to boost the state’s infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents.

In preparation for the anniversary celebration, the governor also disclosed that an interdenominational thanksgiving service will be held on May 25, 2025, at the International Christian Worship Center.
The event will serve as a moment for the state to express gratitude for divine guidance and progress over the past two years.
Governor Eno, who is also a clergy, used the opportunity to call on religious leaders to continue interceding for peace and good governance while steering clear of political interference. “Let us focus on God for the overall good of the state,” he urged.
Addressing his administration’s empowerment programs, the governor advised affluent citizens not to enlist their wards in initiatives designed for the underprivileged.
He encouraged eligible residents to register through state-run portals, as future employment and empowerment opportunities would be drawn from these databases.
Governor Eno reiterated his commitment to sustaining the current atmosphere of peace and unity in Akwa Ibom, urging citizens to avoid engaging in divisive speculations and rumors that could undermine progress.
The service also featured a sermon by Emmanuel Udofia, Primate Emeritus of the African Church, who delivered a message on the theme “The God of Great Wonders”, based on Psalms 77:14-20. He reminded the congregation of God’s miraculous works and urged believers to remain faithful, even in challenging times.
