Gov. Bello promises to reposition education in Kogi

Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has reiterated his determination to reposition education in the state and use the sector to drive the socio-economic renaissance of the state.

The governor who made this known through a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, (CPS), Petra Akinti Onyegbule, said the state needs to prioritize education in order to match the fast pace of development around the world.

He said, “The need to reawaken education from its present stupor was the impetus that drove his placement of education as the number one priority of the state in the New Direction Blueprint to fashion out a society that can drive economic growth.

“Our government has seen the need to prioritize education. But in doing that, we are not oblivious of the need to restructure our education within the precinct of the educational policy of the nation to ensure we develop technical education to empower our youth to graduate into jobs of their own and spark a technological revolution in the nation.”
