Gombe APC moves to reconcile aggrieved members

The Stakeholders Forum of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Gombe State has appealed to leaders of the warring factions to give peace a chance in the state and come together as one under Magaji Mohammed Doho.

In the same vein, the forum called on “the National Secretariat of the party to as a matter of urgency, convene a meeting of all leaders of the party in Gombe state who are based in Abuja and the teeming members of the party at the grassroots level with a view to reconciling them”.

This position was contained in a communiqué issued on Sunday during a press conference by the party Chairman after a consultative meeting of the state working committee and the stakeholders’ forum of APC in Gombe.

The Forum said the party, “in spite its overwhelming support and popularity lost the last governorship race as well as a sizeable number of the State and National Assemblies seats as a result of internal wrangling”.

It observed that the other two candidates that failed in the governorship primary elections alleged foul play and therefore refused to support the winner as initially agreed.

“This led to the ‘factionalisation’ of the party which in turn led to a parallel state EXCO under one Ishaya Karu, a stranger to the EXCO” the communique stated.
