Germanwings Alias Lufthansa Murder Pilot Kills 150 in Suicide Terror Attack

Norwegian Air Shuttle says in wake of Germanwings crash it is speeding up changes to ensure 2 flight crewmembers are always on flight deck.
Easyjet today follows suit and says two crew members are required on all Easyjet flights.

This was echoed by Thomas Cook Airlines. Thomas Cook airlines announced this change today after the Germanwings crashed.

eTN reached out to Lufthansa. It was confirmed no changes are planned immediately to introduce a two person minimum policy in the cockpit. Lufthansa remains to be confident in their pilots and doesn’t see a need for such a change after just a single accident.

This statement is remarkable, since the absence of this policy most likely could have caused the situation and the crash this week.

This missing rule was confirmed by Holger Kaspeski, press and public relations for the Federal Air Traffic Authority of the Federal Republic of Germany. He said: “Regarding Europen Regulation (EC) No. 965/2012 there is no rule that demands that always minimum 2 persons have to stay in the cockpit.

This may be the trend starting with airlines in Europe and around the world.

“What happened is a nightmare beyond our believe”, said Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr earlier today in a press conference.

Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, a German citizen, appeared to have brought down the Airbus A320 with the intent to destroy it.

The CEO said this was a tragic individual event, and should not reflect on our Lufthansa family, our selection process. We all are proud of our Lufthansa staff.

He admitted Lufthansa requires medical checks, but no psychological test is not provided for on the European level.

He said that even though Lufthansa had every confidence in its pilots and their training, it would be reviewing vetting and training procedures in light of the crash.

When asked if this was an act of terror, Spohr’s response was:
Spohr replied: “I’m not a lawyer, but I would say if that a person takes 149 other people with him to their deaths, then we need a word other than suicide.”
