France 24 to celebrate the launch of its international news channel in English on DTTV in Kenya
France 24, the French international news channel has signed an agreement with SIGNET (a subsidiary of the Kenyan Broadcasting Corporation) for the broadcasting of its English channel on the Kenyan public DTTV offer.
This agreement has strengthened the presence of France 24 in Kenya where the channel has more than doubled its coverage to reach 2.3 million Kenyan households (56% of TV households vs. 22% before).
On Wednesday 28th March, France 24 is coming to Nairobi to present the channel, its teams and share its special programmings with its new audience.
From its newsroom in Paris, France 24 is an international news channel that gives a different perspective to global affairs all over the world. With 35 nationalities working in the newsroom and 160 correspondent bureaus all over the world, the expression of diversity, confrontation of viewpoints and debate are central to the channel’s programming.
Broadcast 24/7 in four languages, English, French, Arabic and Spanish, the channel delivers comprehensive international news bulletins every half hour, with analytical commentary offering viewers the context to help them better understand international developments through new angles.
The broadcasting of France 24 in English on SIGNET DTTV package in Kenya will make the channel accessible free-to-air to most metro areas, including Nairobi, Mombasa and 14 other major cities*, thus covering a population of more than 14 million.
France 24 is the only international news channel available on DTTV free-to-air in Kenya.
The channel in English is also accessible in Kenya through various operators: Zuku, Bamba, Startimes, Kwese, Azam, Starsat and free-to-air via the SES 5, NSS 12 and Eutelsat 16A satellites.
