Former APC presidential aspirant says Buhari using CJN’s matter to divert attention from Amina Zakari, IGP’s tenure, others
A former presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Party (APC) Chief Charles Udoka Udeogaranya has accused President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration of plotting the allegation of misconduct as a deliberate attempt to divert attention of Nigerians to the appointment of Buhari’s relative Amina Zakari to head strategic position in INEC ahead of the 2019 general election
Udeogaranya who defected from APC to the Peoples Democratic Party recently, added that it was also to cover up the issue of the retired Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris who the president has refused to replace for the purpose of using him to do APC’s biddings during the elections. According to the Lagos based politician, President Buhari has scored an all time low by nose-diving into a non-issue of charging the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onoghen before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, based on a purported petition submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. “What is happening here is that the president and his goons have cleverly crafted the theory of misconduct against the CJN to divert attention from Nigerian majority of who are demanding the removal of Amina Zakari, a relative of the president from heading INEC result collation unit as well as the refusal of the president to replace IGP Ibrahim Idris whose retirement was due last week. “The president and his clap-trappers are aware that time is running out on the as they have resorted to exhibiting several acts of desperation. “Instead of President Buhari, who claimed inability to afford N55 Million party nomination fees to concentrate on clearing his family name from a severe and historic corruption allegation over acquisition of Keystone bank and 9Mobile communication (formerly Etisalat) in a nation he has impoverished, as alleged by a prominent Nigerian, he has now resorted to chasing shadow of the CJN mere as if Nigerians are fools. Accordingly, Chief Udeogaranya challenged President Buhari to explain to Nigerians why the unusual delay in the appointment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onoghen as at when due, adding that it must have been the reason behind the recent attempt to oust the highly respected Chief Justice of Nigeria from office through the back door. “If the intention of President Buhari is to curry favour from the Judiciary or coarse them into doing his biddings against upholding justice, then he has better perish the idea, because Nigerians knows better as he will be defeated landslide in the 2019 Presidential Election,” Udeogaranya concluded.
