Fire completely destroys over 20 containers at Kano fish market

Kano State has yet recorded another case of fire out break in one of its market.
The popular ‘ yan kifi market (fish Market) was gutted with fire on Saturday night which destroyed over 20 containers of carrying fish products.
The state commissioner ministry of commerce, industry and tourism Alh. Ahmad Rabiu in an interview shortly after the men of the state fire service department were able to put out the fire, said that the fire started about 8pm and lasted for hours during which over twenty containers carrying the fish products were destroyed.
The commissioner who arrived the scene with his ministry officials shortly after the receiving the news of the fire, did all he could to save the situation.
” I got a call that our fish Market was on fire. Quickly I assembled my team and got down here to see what we could do to save the situation. The fire has been put out and over 20 containers are destroyed with their products”
“it’s late already, I have given order for security personnel to be deployed to the market to avoid unscrupulous individuals coming in to loot or further complicate the matter. We are working to ascertain the cause of the fire as well as the total number of persons affected by the fire and worth of goods lost. But for now we can give a rough estimate of millions”
Kano has in recent time experienced cases of fire out break in some of its major markets such as the Rimi markets, Sabon Gari Market is well as the furniture market where goods Worth billions of naira were destroyed.
