FG Is Developing A Framework For Modular Refinery In Nigeria-Osinbajo

Acting president Yemi Osinbajo says the federal government is developing a framework that would allow any one with proven record to run modular refinery in Nigeria.

Professor Osinbajo who said this at the modular refineries association of Nigeria discussion forum in Abuja on Thursday, noted that the present administration is committed to creating an enabling environment for it to thrive.

The huge bunkering activities and illegal refinery in the Niger delta region has been a major concern to successive administrations.

The present administration has shown keen interest and taken steps in developing and building modular refineries in the Niger delta.

The ultimate objective is to reduce environmental degradation caused by bunkering and illegal refining.

Professor Osinbajo enjoyed would-be investors in modular refineries to study the guidelines set by government before venturing into the business.

While admitting that there are challenges in setting up modular refineries, the acting president gave the assurance that government is working towards removing the bottlenecks that could slow down its development.

An award was presented to the acting president for his interest in the development and building of modular refineries.
