Female Yellow Greens Camp in Benin Ahead of T20 World Cup Qualifiers
Nigeria’s national women’s cricket team, the Female Yellow Greens, have kicked off a 14-day training camp in Benin City as part of their buildup to the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers.
The intensive camp, which brings together the country’s top female cricket talents, is designed to improve team chemistry, sharpen technical skills, and assess match readiness ahead of the continental qualifiers.
Speaking at the opening of the camp, officials from the Nigeria Cricket Federation emphasized the importance of early preparation. “This is not just about fitness—it’s about bonding, strategy, and mental focus,” said a team coordinator. “We want to go into the qualifiers with a team that’s not just talented, but also united and ready.”

The camp includes practice matches, drills focusing on bowling accuracy and batting under pressure, as well as sessions on game awareness and fielding. Coaches are also using the camp to finalize squad selections and introduce younger players to the demands of international competition.
The Female Yellow Greens have made steady progress in recent years and are looking to make a strong statement during the qualifiers. With the global stage in sight, the team hopes their preparations in Benin will lay the foundation for a breakthrough performance.
