FCT CP seeks stakeholders’ collaboration to enhance community policing
The Police Commissioner in the FCT, Mr. Sadiq Bello, has urged private companies and individuals to collaborate with the police on effective community policing.
Bello made the call at the inauguration of a police out-post in Shape area of Wasa district of the territory last Thursday.
The project was donated by Gilmore Engineering Nigeria Limited as part of its social responsibility.
Bello was represented by DCP Ishola Babaita, head of administration in the command at the event.
The commissioner reiterated the command’s readiness to collaborate with the community for effective community policing.
He said that security was every body’s responsibility, adding that the project would ease the work of the police to provide security to residents of the community.
Bello advised members of the community to always avail the police useful information to enhance their operations.
Earlier, Coordinator, Satelite Town Development Agency, Mr. Ishaku Tanko, urged members of the public to complement the efforts of the security agencies, saying that they cannot do it alone.

He commended the donor company for the good working relationship with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and urged others to emulate Gilmor and intervene in other areas.
Head of Shape area of Wasa, Mr. Yakubu Kuruzhin, who appreciated the company for the project, promised to work with the police for effective security in the community.
