Father rapes, impregnates 19-yr-old daughter
For allegedly defiling his 19-year-old daughter (name withheld), a 61-year-old man, Eke Kanu, has been arrested by the police in Lagos.
The suspect, who started a sexual relationship with his daughter as an underage had also impregnated her and secured an abortion for her.
It was learnt that the incident happened at Ebute Road area of Igbogbo, in Ikorodu and was reported at the Ikorodu Police Station.
His arrest followed an attempt to lure the daughter again into the act on June 12, but she declined and called out for help, which attracted neighbours to their resident.
The neighbours also alerted the police, who came and arrested the suspect.
Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, who issued a statement on the mater on Sunday, said that the survivor had been taken to the Mirabel Centre, for forensic examination and medical attention.
He also said that the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.

Elkana said: “The survivor stated that her father started having sexual intercourse with her when she was small and threatened to deal with her if she tells anybody. She further stated that when her father discovered that she was pregnant, he took her to a chemist where she was administered some drugs and injection to abort the pregnancy.
“She was taken to the Mirabel Centre by the police, for medical attention and forensic examination. The suspect was arrested and taken to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.”
Similarly, police operatives from the Bariga Division have arrested a 33-year-old man for defiling a 14-year-old girl (name withheld).
The incident reportedly happened at Amodu Street, Bariga on June 26. Elkana said that the survivor was also taken to the Mirabel Centre, for medical treatment and forensic examination.…
