Family cries out over taxi driver’s whereabouts

The family of one Okeke Uchechukwu Edmund from Umusike, Ihe, in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State have cried out over the sudden disappearance of their brother days after he went out for his taxi work.

It was gathered that Edmund, an airport taxi driver was last seen on 6th of June 2021 when he left Enugu for Sam Mbakwe international cargo airport Owerri, Imo state.

According to his brother, Mr. Okeke Chiedozie, who briefed the media, Edmund has been operating at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport Owerri, Imo State following the shutdown of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu for repair.

Edmund’s brother told the media that every effort they have made to trace his whereabout had proved abortive.

“From that day till today, it is now one month and we have not succeeded in locating his whereabouts; we don’t know whether he is dead or alive.

When this type of a thing happened in August 2020, my brother who’s a member of IPOB went for IPOB meeting in Emene, Enugu when Police invaded them killed over 20 person’s and arrested many which my brother was among the ones they arrested and taking them to unknown place for days.

Where visited Police stations to see if we could find our brother Edmund then but Police denied that they don’t have him in their custody but it was through the effort of civil society and the state governor that made Police to release them.

“Our aged Father and mother has not been themselves ever since this development,” he lamented.
