FAAN, Munich airports partner to close tech manpower

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) for three years has received trainings from the Munich airport in Germany to close technical manpower gaps through the exchange programme
Initiated by FCI International Nigeria with the office of Director of Human Resources And Admin, FAAN, Mr Noris Anozie, endorsed by Managing Director/CEO Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Capt. Rabiu H. Yadudu approved for implementation by the of Aviation Senator Hadi SIRIKA, the programme has boosted the technical department of the organisation
According to FCI boss, Mr Fortune Idu, in the said period, six training workshops including onsite, virtual and technical field visits have been successfully concluded and the knowledge and information received has helped FAAN to reposition its workforce and improve the process of airport service delivery.
Idu explained that FAAN has leverage on the good relationship with Munich to access vital development information and share experience which has led to its quick response to COVID, prompt operational restart and post pandemic progressive recovery.
“This recent programme, which was focused on improving the efficiency of airport engineering facilities performance was a master class training for engineering directorate on airport facilities management and maintenance”
He said the training was designed to help close gaps on; shortage of requisite information, guidance and experience to appreciate facility designs, operational limits and process of depreciation and the requirements for upgrade.
“It is aimed to improve maintenance culture, facility management and provide keys to long term maintenance planning and integrated SLA for equipment procurement”.

The lectures were delivered by a team of technical facility experts led by Thilo Jahveris, the Vice President Technical Building Equipment And Construction, Christian Schindler, facilities Consultant, Christian Loffelmann, Dominik Erhart and Alexandar Krossa all technical project management experts from MAI.
At the end of the programme Mr Lorenzo De-Loreto, the Managing Director of Munich airport International who has been very passionate in seeing that FAAN’s airport grow to become strong Africa regional leader in airport service delivery and allied of Munich presented certificate of participation to the delegates.
It was attended by a delegation of engineers from various airports led by Engineer Ali Maina Ali the Director of Engineering Services.
