Ex Plateau Deputy Governor, Leads Other Decampees To APC

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Amb. Ignatius Longjan, yesterday led prominent sons and daughters of Plateau among whom are Sen. Joshua Dariye a former governor and Pauline Tallen, also a former Deputy Governor, to decamp to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Receiving the decampees, the APC National Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun, said that people are coming to the ruling party because of the developmental strides attained by the President Muhammadu Buhari led government, adding that the Nigerians will witness more wind of change come 2017.
Also, the Speaker National House of Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, who was in Jos to show support for the new members, laud the Plateau Deputy Speaker Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, for also defecting to the ruling party, challenging the People Democratic Party (PDP), for daring to take the deputy speaker to court over his defection, saying that there are two factions in the PDP which gave the decampees the constitutional mandate to defect, adding that the court suit filled by the PDP against the Deputy Speaker will not hold sway.
Consequently, Governor Simon Lalong who was also at the occasion, said Plateau is set to witness ‘the who is who in politics’, affirming that the APC led government in the State has surmounted all the challenges met on ground when it took over power.
He child the PDP for organizing a re-conciliatory forum the same day the APC is receiving decampees, saying the PDP has since been reduced to a fragment of a district party in the State.
The APC Chairman, Hon. Letep Dabang, who also spoke at the event said “the new members cutting across the 17 Local Government Council are grass root politicians which signifies that APC has come to stay in Plateau”.
