Environmentalist urges govt on green space investment, calls for collaboration

Credible Stakeholder in the Nigerian’s Tourism Industry Mr. Desmond Majekodunmi cum Chief Executive Officer LUFASI Nature Park, says there is no pathway to a successful business economy without a major effort to channel investment on nature protector.

Environmentalist revealed this to Daily Times, Easter Sunday at LUFASI Nature Park while calling on the Lagos State Government to support development activities at the park.

According to Majekodunmi, “It is difficult to keep the place running and unfortunately the people on the corporate sector do not seem to understand what we are doing and we are not getting any sponsorship, or any support for the green space in Lagos eventually they will come to the realisation.

Recalling, he said, the secretary United Nations at a time stated, “Nature is under attack by humanity and this suicidal because she always fights back and when they come to the realization that he was speaking from a very good position of knowledge, basically is he saying look after nature.

And they will come to the realization if nature collapses the business would also collapse and so they will now realize that it is important to invest in places like LUFASI.

Majekodunmi also said, “The park is a very safe environment and it also allows people to appreciate the importance of protecting nature because if we do not protect nature, nature cannot protect us. we wouldn’t have anywhere to relax and not only that we wouldn’t have oxygen, water, food and medicine.

He said, “People are just relaxing with nature because we are celebrating the resurrection of the Lord himself, who said we should care for nature.

It is more than just relaxing and it is also taking care of the creation and this was why the creator said we should take care of the environment and not to destroy them.

On this note, therefore, people are just coming to have a good time, have some refreshment being among the fresh air of LUFASI Park. The turnout is lower and it is better as we do not want too many overloaded.

For the LUFASI Park General Manager, Mr. Evans Basil, “Running the park is capital intensive nevertheless calling on Nigerians to come and breath in fresh air on LUFASI Nature Park.

In this park, we have the pangolin retention place because pangolin are facing too much danger and dragging to extinction and we trying our best to keep the pangolin.
