Election Materials Arrive Late in Nyanya, Mararaba

Voters in Nyanya, FCT and Mararaba in Nasarawa State turned out en-masse very early on Saturday morning to perform their civic duty of electing the president and National Assembly members.

However, the excercise had some initial challenges with late arrival of materials and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

As at 10:30am, accreditation was yet to commence in some of the polling units visited in the areas.

Where it began, however, the process was slow ostensibly due to the application of the card reader.

Also, some of the voters were finding it difficult to locate their polling units as some of them were seen moving from one polling unit to another asking questions on how to locate their centres.

There was also heavy security presence in and around the poling units but voters were moving about freely.
