Ekiti Assembly congratulates Muslims, seeks prayers for Nigeria

The Ekiti House of Assembly on Friday congratulated Muslim faithful in the country on the commencement of the Ramadan fast.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mrs Yemisi Ayokunle, and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti.

The statement urged Muslims to use the opportunity of the Ramadan to pray for peaceful coexistence, love and divine intervention to curtail the COVID-19.
It said the Ramadan, being one of the pillars of Islam, provided them another opportunity for reflection and genuine love toward one another.
The statement reiterated the lawmakers’ commitment to support and provide quality representation that would bring about development.

It wished Muslims a successful month of Ramadan while calling on the people to maintain the stay-at-home order of the government to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
