Ekiti 2018: DSS arrests heads, for collecting PVC from teachers

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday swooped on a popular secondary school in Ado-Ekiti, Ola Oluwa Muslim Grammar School and arrested some officials for forcefully collecting Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from teachers.

The DSS men who were believed to be acting on a tip-off stormed the school around 9.00 am and arrested two officials who were collecting PVCs from the teachers.

The Principal, Mr. Sunmonu Olaoye, did not make himself available throughout the time the DSS operatives were in the school.

Our correspondent gathered the security men arrested one Mrs Olagbemi, Secretary to the Principal and one Mrs. Ogunrinde, Office Assistant to the Principal.

The arrests were made after the security agency had launched a two-day manhunt for politicians and their agents who were collecting PVCs from civil servants, teachers and other eligible voters.

The police spokesman Caleb Ikechukwu said he has not been informed on the arrest. He promised to get back to our reporter when briefed on the matter.
