EFCC arrest Innoson Motors Chairman, Chukwuma

Operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday arrested the Chairman/Managing Director of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Chief Innocent Chukwuma in Enugu.
The heavily armed operatives of the anti-graft agency stormed Chukwuma’s residence at Savage Crescent, GRA, Enugu at about 7:30am on Tuesday to effect his arrest.
Daily Times gathered that the security men guarding the home of the Chukwumas put a resistant, as they refused the EFCC operatives entry. This resulted to firing of tear gas by the policemen accompanying the EFCC men.
Our correspondent gathered that the operatives cordoned off all the entry and exit routes leading into the residence. This created gridlocks as motorists plying the area.
As at the time of filing this report the operatives had succeeded in gaining access to the building after overpowering Chukwuma’s security men.
When Daily Times contacted, the Head of Media South East, Mr. Chris Oluka, he said Mr. Chukwuma was still being held in the State waiting to be taken to Lagos.
However, no reason was given for his arrest.
