Driver docked for defiling under-age girl

A 28- year old man, Nnamdi Ikunor was yesterday arraigned before a Lagos state Magistrates Court, Ikeja over unlawful and indecent assault of one 8-year old girl name (withheld) by fingering her vagina.

The suspect was arraigned before Magistrate (Mrs.) B.O Osunsanmi on a two- count charge of defilement. He was said to have committed the offence on July 7, 2016, at Adidas village, Ajegunle Apapa, Lagos.

Ikunor, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him by the police.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Simon Imohnwa informed the offence committed is punishable under section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state 2011.

Part of the charge preferred against the defendant reads: “That you Nnamdi Ikunor on the 7th July 2016 at Adidas village, Ajegunle Apapa, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial district did unlawfully and indecently assaulted one (name withheld) 8-year old child by fingering her vagina and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 135 of the criminal laws of Lagos State 2011.”

Ikunor was granted bail by Magistrate Osunsunmi in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties.

The matter was thereby  adjourned till September 7, 2016.
