Don solicits support for new president general of Ohaneze Ndigbo

The proprietor, Elizabeth Memorial College of Education Nsukka, Enugu State, Dr. Chinedu Ejiofor, has urged the people of the South East to give maximum support to the newly elected Ohaneze Ndigbo President General, Dr. John Nwodo.
Ejiofor stated this in an interview with the Daily Times in Enugu on Wednesday that Nwodo had all it takes to take the Igbo socio-cultural organization to the next level.
“Given his enviable track record and good performance as former minister of information, Nwodo has all it takes to unity, restore the dignity of the organization and move it to the next level.
“With maximum support of Igbo people in the country and in diaspora he will mobilize the Igbo and fight against the continuous marginalization of the Igbo race.
“This is a time for Igbo people to work together and speak with one voice to enable the Igbo race take its rightful place in Nigeria,” he said.
He said if Nwodo is given the required support the Igbos would produce a consensus presidential candidate that would win 2019 general election.
“Ndigbo’s inability to produce a president in the past was due to lack of unity and some personalities in Igboland allowing themselves to be used by other tribes to scuttle the presidential ambition of Ndigbo.
“It’s only a president of Igbo extraction that will help to stop marginalization against Igbo people, give them sensitive positions as well as fix deplorable roads in south east,” he said
Ejiofor who is also a lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka described Nwodo as one of the illustrious sons of Ndigbo who would do anything within his powers to ensure more development and progress in south east states.
“I have known Nwodo for a long time, he is intelligent, honest, a bulldozer and God-fearing human being.
“Nwodo is such a person that believes that hardwork must be rewarded and truth must be told no matter whose Ox is gored.
“I have no doubt that Ohaneze Ndigbo will be repositioned as well as record enviable feats during Nwodo’s administration,” he said.
