Design Expert, Ayomide Ogunbayo awarded for her Impact

Ayomide Ogunbayo has been awarded as the 246th Certified Global Tech Hero, an honor that celebrates both her remarkable contributions to user-centered design and her unwavering dedication to inclusive technology.

Over the past four years, Ayomide has woven research-led insights into every project she undertakes, from shaping fintech platforms for thousands of merchants to architecting housing solutions that respond to the most pressing human needs.

Her journey began with a passion for understanding how people think and interact with digital systems, a curiosity she deepened through academic research on the cognitive impact of learning new keyboard layouts.

That work laid the foundation for a nuanced design philosophy, one that balances familiarity with innovation, and functionality with empathy.

At Hervest, Ayomide’s leadership in crafting the Group Savings feature sparked a fifteen-percent surge in new users, while her instrumental role in a mobile app redesign redefined the company’s approach to security, usability, and regulatory compliance.

She then took on one of West Africa’s largest fintech firms, Accelerex, where she guided the design of four core payment platforms used by over 120,000 merchants, ensuring every interface scaled seamlessly to meet the demands of high-volume transactions.

Her talent for helping startups find product-market fit led her to RoomPlays, a negotiation-platform MVP that earned acceptance into Y Combinator’s Winter 2022 cohort.

From there, she lent her expertise to emerging ventures such as Varsi, TGI Pay, and Aveer.hr, always with an eye on building trust with users and translating complex workflows into intuitive experiences.

Today, Ayomide is channeling her skills into the UK housing sector, where she designs digital tools that make access to safe, affordable homes more inclusive and accessible.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ayomide contributes generously to the broader UX and product community.

As an active member of the Interaction Design Foundation and ProductTank Birmingham, she shares fresh perspectives on design strategy, mentors aspiring practitioners, and fosters conversations that push the discipline forward.

Her work has empowered countless peers to approach design not merely as aesthetics, but as a catalyst for social good.

In announcing Ayomide Ogunbayo’s certification, Qazeem Oladejo, founder of The Connected Awards, remarked, “Ayomide’s journey exemplifies the rigor and impact at the heart of our certification process.

Her ability to drive measurable growth in fintech, her visionary work in housing inclusion, and her commitment to community mentorship are qualities of our Global Tech Heroes.

We are proud to honor her achievements and look forward to her continued influence in shaping technology that serves everyone.”

Ayomide Ogunbayo’s recognition as the 246th Certified Global Tech Hero celebrates a career defined by thoughtful innovation, empathetic leadership, and an unyielding belief that well-designed products can transform lives.

As she continues to inspire through design and mentorship, her story stands as a testament to the power of combining research, creativity, and compassion in service of a more inclusive digital future.
