Contrary to speculations in some quarters that he has been paid, owner of Breez FM, 99.9 radio station which was demolished in May 2017 by the Nasarawa state government, Naweni Aboki has said that he has not been paid any compensation, even as the once burbling radio station remains a shadow of its former self.

The situation which prompted the management of the station to drag the state government to court was later approved by the state government in November last year for “out of court settlement.”

Aboki, told our correspondent over the weekend in his office that his acceptance for out of court settlement was based on terms of agreement but since then the committee remained muted.

Aboki stressed that the committee was made up of people of high integrity in the likes of the Deputy Governor of the state, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of the state, which was chaired by the Deputy Governor but wonder why after 4months after, there is no action.

“After 4 months of the call on me to step down the court case, there was no sign of reconciliation, the station has not been given chances to go ahead rather so the court deemed it necessary for the session to continued and so be it.” He explained”.

He lamented that the station which had 12 staff were sent back to labour market to face the vagaries of unemployment as a result of the demolition.

The owner of the media outfit appealed to well-meaning individuals in the state to prevailed on the state government to change its decision over the matter.

Aboki lauded Journalists in the state for following the matter diligently and accurately according to him, doing so has portrayed to the world of their good work and love for humanity.
