Chairman of the Delta State IRS, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata has revealed that the Service is open to collaborate with the Nigerian Air Force to ensure effective enforcement and compliance drive amongst tax defaulters.
The Revenue boss made this declaration, Monday, in his Office in Warri, when the Commander, 214 FORWARD OPERATING BASE of the Nigerian Air Force, Group Captain Abdulazeez Adisa and his team, paid him a courtesy visit.
According to Ighrakpata, “The Air Force is mostly needed where residents of tax defaulters are protected by armed military personnel, who scare away tax officers of the Service at such areas for enforcement and compliance drive.”
Ighrakpata, who had earlier commended the Nigerian Air Force for sacrificing their all to secure the nation, also called for a cordial relationship between the duo to forestall further embarrassment and assault on tax officers while carrying out enforcement and compliance exercises in the future.
