Delta confirms 3 new COVID-19 cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday, confirmed three new cases of the novel coronavirus in Delta state.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ononye Mordi, who spoke to journalists on Sunday, said that with the new three cases, the state now has 25 cases across its isolation centers and appealed to residents to always observe the rules to curtail the spread of the disease.

Meanwhile, over 120 persons have been arrested across the state for violating the compulsory use of face masks.
The arrested violators, according to the Commissioner of Police in the state, Hafiz Inuwah, would be tried accordingly by the mobile courts established by the state government.
Over 40 persons were on Friday arrested at Uvwie Local Government Area of the state for violating the use of face masks as directed by the state government.

The council boss, Mr. Ransom Onyake, who confirmed the arrest of the persons, said that the violators will be tried at the mobile court.
Those arrested include commercial vehicle drivers who violated the directives on the number of passengers they can carry and passengers not wearing face masky.
The state police boss said that the 120 violators were arrested in Asaba, Ibusa, Okpanam and Ughelli, adding that they would be prosecuted by the mobile court put in place by the state government in Asaba, among others.
