Defection: Only few remains in APC – Asogwa

Former Governorship candidate of Great Nigeria People’s Party (GNPP) in the second republic and a chieftain All Progressives Congress, Dr. Joe Asogwa at the weekend accused President Muhammadu Buhari of using his anti-corruption mantra to hunt down his political opponents.

Asogwa an associate of late Chief Emeka Odimegwu Ojukwu who defected from APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made the accusation at a rally at the zonal secretariat of the party in Nsukka.

He told PDP supporters that he decided to join PDP because “It is only a fool that will continue to sail in this type of ship called APC.

“By the time Buhari’s anti-corruption mantra became a mere tool for hunting down political opponents, my admiration for Buhari as an anti-corruption crusader began to wane”, he said.
