Covid-19: Council shuts down all mosques in FCT

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIN) have shut down all mosques in the Federal Capital Territory.

The council on Monday ordered the immediate closure of all mosques in the FCT Abuja, and asked all Muslims to join hands with government to fight the spread of the deadly disease, Covid-19.

In a related news, the Abuja National Mosque earlier today suspended five daily congregational and jum’ah prayers, gatherings and other activities, effective from Monda,y 23rd March, 2020.
The open space market and restaurants attached to the mosques are also shut down.
