Court remands 3 over alleged robbery

Three men, who allegedly robbed a man of his Honda car on Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, were on Monday remanded in Ikoyi Prisons by an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, Emeka Eze, 29; Chinaza Nwaenyi, 26 and Tochukwu Ezekude, 38- are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and robbery.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr O.O. Olatunji, ordered that the case file should be sent to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Olatunji adjourned the case until July 18 for mention.
The prosecutor, Insp. Oladele Adebayo, had told the court that the accused committed the offences on May 25 at about 10.00p.m., at the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos.
Adebayo said that the accused, armed with offensive weapons, robbed the complainant, Mr Olutunmi Akinkunmi, of his car with registration No. LND 193 CA valued at N350, 000.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 296 and 297(2) (a) (b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Their pleas were, however, not taken in court.
