Court remands 2 notorious tricycle thieves in Enugu prisons

Two suspects who allegedly specialised in the stealing of tricycle popularly known as Keke Napep, are now cooling their heels at the Enugu Maximum Prison where they are remanded.

The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, disclose this in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu.

Amaraizu said that the suspects, who gave their names as Chukwuma Success and Ugudu Chibuike, were arraigned before His worship, C. Eze, of court one Enugu South Local Government on October 26.

”They were arraigned for two count charges of Conspiracy and Stealing contrary to sections 495(a) of the criminal code cap 30 Vol. II revised law of Enugu State and section 353(I) of the criminal code cap 30 Vol. II revised laws of Enugu State of Nigeria, 2004.

”They were remanded in prison custody while case was adjourned to Nov. 6,” he said.

According to him, the suspects had allegedly on Oct. 24 at number 6 Sunny Nwodo Street in Mary Land axis of Enugu State in the night, conspired and stole one Bajaj KEKE with registration number ENU 100 VW.

”It was however gathered that through an intelligence information, they were nabbed by the police operatives working in partnership with members of the public at Ozalla axis of Nkanu West Local Government Area,” he said.
