Count me out of your troubles, Sen Omo-Agege tells embattled Labour Party Chairman

The Senator representing Delta Central in the National Assembly, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has exonerated himself from the leadership crisis rocking the Labour Party.

Omo-Agege who said that his attention has been drawn to the current factional leadership crisis in LP said he has never instigated the division in the party as alleged by the embattled National Chairman of the Labour Party, Alhaji Abubakar Abdulkadir Salam, adding that it is rather Salam’s very questionable and poor leadership methods that have thrown LP into the factional crisis.

Senator Omoagege in a press statement made available to Daily Times yesterday, Said that Alhaji Salam has persistently prevailed on him to dissuade the NEC members from removing him as LP’s National Chairman.

“However, i could not do that because the NEC members were determined to clean the party, particularly given the allegations against Salam,” the senator affirmed.

“The main fact that we know a at today is that sequel to resolutions reached two days ago by the National Excecutive Committee (NEC) of the party, Comrade Atare Bobo Adou is now the Acting National Chairman of the Labour Party while Barrister Akingbade Oyelekan is the Acting National Secretary.

We also know that NEC suspended /removed Alhaji Salam from office as the Chairman of the Party as well as some other officials, ” the statement read.
