Commissioning of APC South-South postponement to honour late COAS, others – APC

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) stated on Tuesday that the postponement of the commissioning of the party south-south zonal secretariat was to honour the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, and ten other officers.
Lt Gen Attahiru and ten other officers of the Nigeria Army and Airforce crew men died in an air crash in Kaduna, Friday 21 May, while going to Zaria for an official engagement.
The party in a press statement signed by James Akpanudoedehe, Secretary Caretaker Committee on Tuesday said:Â

“Owing to the tragic mishap that claimed the lives of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and ten other senior military officers/service men, the National Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of our party, Mai Mala Buni has directed that the aforementioned event earlier scheduled for 28th May, 2021 at Enugu be shifted to Friday 4th June, 2021 at 10:am.”
The National Chairman appeals to party leaders to show understanding in the circumstance adding, “this is done in honour of the memory of our military officers who died in active service for our country.”
