“For now, there are two major issues CAN as a body is currently addressing- they are: CAN’s input on Nigeria Constitution Amendment (1999); Companies and Allied Matters Act Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (2020).
“The CAN President with other major Christian stakeholders have set up committees under the CAN department of Legal and Public Affairs supervision to work on these. Wide consultations and reception of memoranda is ongoing on them.
“Position papers on them by CAN is to be adopted and taken to be forwarded to the government of the federation. These will take care of all interests of Christians in Nigeria in particular and Nigerians in general.
“In view of the foregoing, you are all estopped from giving press release on the matters in order to avoid discordant tunes and misrepresentation as to avoid misgivings. The CAN President is assuring all Christians to exercise restraint and shun unnecessary public interviews as all issues would be handled diligently and effectively well.”
