Calls for restructuring of Nigeria misplaced, says Ndume

Senate leader, Senator Ali Ndume, has criticised those calling for the restructuring of the country, saying the call is an unnecessary and misplaced venture.

Ndume, while fielding questions from newsmen in his office at the National Assembly on Tuesday, , said that what the country needs now is good governance and good leadership and not restructuring as being propagated by some Nigerians.

He maintained that it would be wrong for a few individuals to use the media to champion their individual views in the guise of public position.

The call for the restricting of the country had been louder lately as a former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Afenifere,  South West caucus of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) have all  voiced their support to the call.

The Senate leader posited that calling for restructuring at this critical stage of our nationhood and the enormous challenges ranging from economic to security, is missing the point.
