Bursary: Osun Students Threaten to Disrupt Govt Activities
Students, under the aegis of National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS), have given a three-day ultimatum to their state government to pay bursary, failing which they would embark on a protest that would disrupt government activities.
The association also dismissed claims by government that bursary remained a privilege and not right.
In a release signed by NAOSS Chairman and Secretary, Comrades Animashun and Ganiyu Fatai respectively, copies of which were made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the group decried what it termed “anti-students policies in the education sector.”
The letter read in part: “There is poor welfare package for the lecturers in state-owned institutions, our bursary for 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 academic sessions have not also been paid.”
