Buratai Calls For Review Of Military Methodological Analysis

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai has reiterated the need for the nation’s military to review its methodology of combat readiness, intensify training and spot appropriate talents to put the nation’s military in the best shape in case of future challenges similar to the ones it is confronting, Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East, Boko Haram and militants in the Niger Delta.
According to Buratai, who was represented by Maj. Gen. Adamu Baba Abubakar, Chief of Administration (Army headquarters), young minds should be nurtured and inculcated with the requisite discipline required to be committed defenders of the nation’s internal security.
He stated this during the weekend when he declared open the 10th Command Secondary Schools and Nigerian Military School Games in Abuja.
He said the Nigerian Army should work collectively and put in extra effort to ensure that the victory recorded against terrorists in the country was consolidated, stressing that there was no better way of doing that than cultivating a crop of young men and women, such as those gathered for the competition to face future challenges.
While expressing gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for his sustained support in the fight against insurgency in the North-East, Buratai said “I want to thank the President for his unflinching support to the Nigerian Army, which has helped in checkmating Boko Haram the North-East and insurgency in the Niger Delta.
He urged the participants in the game to demonstrate team spirit good sportsmanship, urging them to strive hard to exhibit their talents.
For his part, the acting corps commander of the Nigerian Army Education Corps, Brig. Gen. Lawal Abdullahi Faskari, extolled the virtues of the Chief of Army Staff as shown in his stewardship of the Army, which has achieved a 100% success in degrading the Boko Haram.
