Buhari returns Emefiele as CBN governor,seeks Senate confirmation

President Muhammadu Buhari has renewed the appointment of Mr Godwin Emefiele as the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for a final tenure of five years.
Emefiele’s first tenure will end on June 2,, 2019.
The President today transmitted a letter to the Senate, seeking parliamentary approval for re-appointment of the CBN governor.
This, has put to rest, speculations surrounding his re-appointment or otherwise.
Before now, speculations were rife that some Northern elements have been pestering and lobbying the Presidency with request for a Northern candidate as replacement for Emefiele with different names of persons being mentioned in social media.
