Breaking: PDP floors APC, returns Ugwuanyi as Enugu governor
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) floored the All Progressives Congress, APC, in last Saturday’s governorship election in Enugu State with a major landslide despite the low voters turnout that marred the votes.
The PDP governorship candidate, who is the incumbent, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi polled 449,935 as against APC’s candidate that polled 10,423
Total number of forty-two (42) political parties participated in the election that cut across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
The scores obtain by the parties are: AAC – 260, SCD – 62, ADC – 581, ADP – 175, AGA – 76, ANDP – 33, ANP – 57, APN – 554, APC – 10,423, APGA – 2547, APP – 26, ASD – 22.
Others are; C4C – 30, CAP – 6, DA, DPC – 21, FRESH – 156, GDPN – 30, GPN – 59, ID – 194, JNPP – 36, KP – 93, LP – 61, MMN – 10, MPN – 54, NRDP – 7, NAC – 7, NCP – 10, NDCP – 48, NIP – 53, NMPP – 83. NRM – 145, NUP – 463.
While the scores for the rest are; PDP – 449,935, PPC – 271, PPN – 174, RPNP – 75, SDP – 1476, SNP – 53, UDP – 1648, UPP – 854 and ZLP – 67.
The total number of registered voters was 1,944,803, total number of accredited voters 478,241, total valid votes 470,927, rejected votes 7,314, while the total votes cast was 478,241.
