Boko Haram: PCNI comdemn attack on Unimaid, NNPC staff

The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on North East Initiative PCNI, Lt. Gen. T.Y. Danjuma (rtd) has condemned the recent terrorist attack on the geologists who were prospectimg oil in Maiduguri.

Recall that over 50 persons including staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC and the University of Maiduguri, (UNIMAID), soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) were ambushed by Boko Haram Terrorists while on an oil exploration assignment in Borno Yesu District of Magumeri area of Borno State on the 25th of July 2017.

In a state!emt signed by the PCNI Head of Media and Communications, Alkasim Abdulkadir, Gen. Danjuma condoled the bereaved families and the state government and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

“The death of these patriotic Nigerians killed in the line of duty is not only tragic but highly regrettable, a sad loss to the University Community, the NNPC, the Nigerian Army and the country at large.”

He equally called for the immediate release of the abducted members of the team just as he reassured that PCNI will continue to work towards the end of insurgency in the North East.
