Blues Have Passed Biggest Test in Title Chase –TERRY
John Terry claims Chelsea have passed their biggest test of the season by beating Hull.
Jose Mourinho’s side looked to be running out of steam when they crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Paris St-Germain and were then held to a draw at home to Southampton.
And when struggling Hull recovered from two goals down with a quick-fire double at the KC Stadium on Sunday, Chelsea’s title chase had suddenly become a stagger.
Loic Remy’s second half winner settled any nerves though putting them six points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand on all their rivals.
And according to skipper Terry, Chelsea have answered their doubters.
“When you set the standard as high as we have done from the word go, then starting dropping points at home and going out of the Champions League, once again it comes back to character,” he said.
“But showing character is what we have been about for years.”
The joy on the faces of the players at the final whistle suggested their latest triumph felt like a key moment in the season.
