…Reality show to hold in Nigeria for the first time
Africa’s popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, is set to return with a bang in its fourth season with the reality show for the first time will be held in Nigeria. Organizers however revealed that auditions will be held in eight locations across Nigeria that includes Warri, Ibadan, Benin, Lagos, Portharcourt, Enugu, Abuja and Calabar respectively come February 1st and 2nd 2019.
The reality TV show which follows the format of the international Big Brother franchise is known to bring excitement and entertainment to fans and viewers across the continent as it houses strangers over a period of three months who contest against each other in a battle of wits for the ultimate prize.
In its fourth edition, Nigeria’s number one betting website, Bet9ja, has been announced as headline sponsors of the 2019 edition of the reality show where shortlisted housemates will be housed for 90days.
Speaking on the return of Big Brother Naija, the Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr. John Ugbe said: “This fourth season promises to be even bigger than previous editions and underscores MultiChoice position as the biggest investor and driver of entertainment content on the continent”.
Since its maiden edition in 2006, the Big Brother Naija reality TV show has produced some of the country’s biggest pop culture influencers and celebrities including Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, Katung Aduwak, Bisola Aiyeola, Efe Ejeba and Uriel Oputa and mostly recently Miracle Ikechukwu, Tobi Bakre and Cynthia “Cee-C” Nwadiora.
Specific locations includes Mauve 21 Event centre, ring road Ibadan, Deluxe Garden suites, Warri; The Podium Event Centre, Lekki Lagos; Hotel Presidential , Port Harcourt amongst others. Mutiat Alli
