Biafra: MASSOB warns against fraudsters masquerading as freedom fighters

The Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) has raised the alarm warning members of the public against fraudsters masquerading as pro-Biafra agitators who are collecting money from politicians in the name of Biafra freedom fighters.
MASSOB Director of Information, Chief Sunday Okereafor, accused “the self acclaimed leader” of the group, Uchenna Mmadu, and the media and publicity secretary of Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Emma Powerful, as fraudulent people.
The MASSOB-BIM spokesman alleged that Emma Powerful, a onetime Area Administrator of Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state embezzled money belonging to the group and was kicked out.
“Emma Powerful is a criminal who was sacked based on anti-MASSOB and criminal activities after he allegedly embezzled N0.9million that belong to MASSOB in Idemili in 2006.
“Besides, no one has questioned why he chooses to go with a pseudo name “Powerful.” Where have you heard someone go with such a name if his intension is not to swindle people?” he queried.
He challenged Emma Powerful to come out and reveal his true identity.
Okereafor also accused Mmadu, a former member of the Ralph Uwazuruike led group of compromising the struggle when he colluded with federal government and other politicians to frustrate efforts of MASSOB leader.
“If Uchenna Mmadu wants to be the leader of MASSOB, let him come back into the struggle. Can a bishop be a bishop outside the diocese,” he asked.
He described Chief Uwazuruike as the undisputed founder and national leader of MASSOB.
“The MASSOB agitation is a product of Chief Uwazuruike that was formed in 1999.
Okereafor revealed that it was Chief Uwazuruike who established Radio Biafra in London and made Nnamdi Kanu the director.
“Kanu was a no body when Chief Uwazuruike picked him up in London. Our leader gave him money to get an accommodation after he was ejected by his Ghanaian girlfriend he was living with as at that time in London.
“It was after then that Chief Uwazurike established Radio Biafra and made Nnamdi Kanu the director.
“Today Kanu is claiming that he established the station.”
