Benue University Alumni Association elects new President

Newly elected president of the Benue State University Alumni Association, Comrade Comfort Ashilu Abaivo, has assured that her leadership is poised to redefine the narrative of the association for greater impact of the institution.
She noted that her emergence through consensus arrangement was an indication that they have moved from the era of factionalization and acrimony to unity and glory.
Delivering her acceptance speech on Saturday, the BSUAA President said, her victory was for all members and a turning point in the history of the association, and commended governor Hyacinth Alia for his intervention that led to the restoration of peace for election.
She appreciated delegates and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in her and the entire new leadership, pledging to run an open and inclusive association in the course of duty.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Comrade Ishom Terhemen, while announcing the results, commended the orderiness of candidates and delegates which paved the way for the successful exercise.
Earlier, the interim president of the association, Dr ZK, thanked factioner presidents, Comrade Lawrence Vihimga and Godwin Agbadu for sheathing their sword for the good of the alumni, and commended the committee for conducting a free and fair election.
Other officers elected include, Joseph Kiva as Vice President, Eunice Okoche, Secretary, David Yaakur as Assistant Secretary, with Dorcas Akpogide as Treasurer.
Also elected were, Stephen Gwar, Financial Secretary, Stanley Akaager, as Organizing Secretary, David Ayangeaor, as Internal Auditor, Noah Terungwa as Public Relations Officer, and Aondover Atsaga as Provost.
