Less than 48 hours to the conduct of the April 11th, 2015 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections, former gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Emmanuel Jime, has directed his lawyers to withdraw the case he had filed against Chief Samuel Ortom, challenging his emergence as the standard bearer for the APC.
Hon. Jime, who in a statement made available to newsmen, on Thursday, in Makurdi, noted that his decision was a mark of respect for the President-elect, Gen Mohammadu Buhari and other APC leaders, who intervened in the case.
Similarly, state chairman of APC, Mr Abba Yaro, urged Benue people to disregard rumour making the rounds that Chief Ortom has been rejected as the candidate of the APC, but troop out in their numbers to vote for him, in order to secure their future.
It would be recalled that, the duo of Senator JKN Waku and Hon Emmanuel Jime, who were then gubernatorial aspirants, went to court challeging lack of transparency in the emergence of Chief Ortom as the guber candidate of the APC, during the December party primaries.
