Bayelsa Govt organizes Restoration Easter FEST to showcase indigenous Artist

Bayelsans from all walks of life have commended Governor Henry Seraike Dickson, for organizing the Easter fiesta in the state, Tagged “The Restoral Easter Fest” music, comedy and dance show to celebrate the season and foster unity among the people.
The event which was also used to support budding talents in the state’s entertainment industry was held on Sunday 1st of April at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenagoa with thousands of people in attendance.
The excited crowd praised the Governor for bringing back social life to the state as they sang, danced and laughed to the rib cracking jokes by comedians, entertainers and musicians including a sensational hip hop stars from Lagos and Port-Harcourt.
According to them, the event was historic and the security efforts of the restoration government have truly paid off as there was no incidence of violence throughout the period of the event which lasted for over eight hours.
In his speech, the commissioner for information, Hon Daniel Iworiso Markson, who represented the Governor Dickson, told the crowd that the present administration will continue to project the youths in the state as the leaders of tomorrow.
He pointed out that the governor has demonstrated his passion for the youths through his massive appointments of youths into positions of authority as commissioners, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants.
He advised the youths to shun vices such as cultism, robbery and other criminal tendencies as plans are underway to organize a talent hunt competition between the Local Governemnt Areas in the state this year which will be used to discover more youths and make them super stars.
According to Iworiso, from their performances Bayelsa youths can compete with other entertainers in the world, stressing that more of such fiesta would be organized for the youths to show case their talents and have a sense of belonging in the restoration government.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for tourism, Hon. Ebiere Musa, commended the State government for organizing the event for youths, adding that her Ministry will organize a competition for the youths in the state and twenty winners who will emerge at the competition will be sponsored to watch all the matches in the world cup in Russia.
She equally commended the youths for their show of talents and urged them to engage in meaningful ventures instead of dissipating their energies in cultism and other vices.
High point of the occasion was the presentation of a brand new tricycle also known as “Keke Napep” to an Ekiti state born Kolade Afolabi, who won the star price of the raffle draw which was witnessed by the officials of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, other prices included two in one gas cookers, generating sets, pressing Iron and other electronic items.
