Bayelsa APC aligns with Oshiomhole, adopts direct primaries

The leadership and state executive committees of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bayelsa state yesterday aligned with the National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole over the adoption of the direct primaries for the State, National and Presidential primaries of the party.

The decision by the Bayelsa APC was taken at a well attended State Executive Council (SEC) and stakeholders’ sessions presided over by the former Governor, Chief Timipre Sylva and the Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri.

The party agreed that the adoption of direct primaries will allow for cohesion and all inclusive participation.

The former Governor and APC leader in the State, Chief Sylva, noted that the party in Bayelsa can now boast of quality aspirants vying for the State and National assembly’s elections.
