In line with the diversification drive of government to improve the National economy, the Ayobo Ipaja  local council development area LCDA has embarked on large scale fish farming to boost the economy of the zone.

The Executive Secretary of the council, Dele Ayinde Said the drive was a fall  out of state government’s magnanimity to the area.

Ayinde stated this while highlighting the gains and challenges of the council to journalists in an exclusive interview at the councils Secretariat.

According to him, the council will be embarking on large scale fish farming while it will also support indigene financially in that drive. “

Ayinde said the government of Akinwumi Ambode has commenced the establishment of fish farm at Jagundeyi Apena to serve members of the community.” Apart from the 114 roads given to LCDAs in Lagos State, which we have priority, he gave us Megida – Ishefun, Megida Ayetoro Road. He has started to establish a fish farm at Jagundeyi  Apena axis which I know that the road from Asipa to Jagundeyi Apena will be constructed too”

He said this was made possible by opening up the road leading to the council by the state government.

The LCDA boss noted that the activities of the market women and land speculators (omonile) has constituted a draw back to the speed of development in the area and called for restraint adding that the council was poised towards developing the area especially through market expansion.

He expressed confidence that business will flourish in the area with crime free environment  made possible by Hon Bisi Yusuf a member of the state house of assembly from that zone. “We have a knowledgeable  member of the house of assembly, Hon Bisi Yusuf who has been given us pep talks as regards security. Again, we have about three police stations and the neighbourhood watchers ate always on ground”
