Awka Catholic Diocese Bishops commend Sen Victor Umeh

Senator Victor Umeh, OFR, (Ohamadike Ndigbo) on Sunday presided over the 2018 Harvest and Bazaar ceremony of the Pope Johnpaul Major Seminary, Okpuno where he commended the Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor and the management of the institution for the level of physical and moral developments therein.

Also atop the ceremony was the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Jonas Benson Okoye who expressed satisfaction with the performance of Senator Victor Umeh in the senate and extensively commended him for selflessness and dedication in the service of humanity and the church.

Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye seized the opportunity to draw heavenly blessings on Senator Victor Umeh praying God for more grace to enable him to continue his many good works, especially as 2019 general elections draws near.

“I do not like praising people only when they are dead, I also acknowledge them when they are alive.

“So, thank you for your many good works, in fact, it is difficult to be chronicled.

“I thank you on behalf of the diocesan bishop”, Bishop J.B Okoye compliments Senator Victor Umeh

Similarly, the seminarians who joyfully chanted in tunes in eulogy of Senator Victor Umeh proclaimed and maintained without mincing words that Senator Victor Umeh is serving God’s purpose and should be given more time to solidify the good work he has started.

In their words, “God has designated Senator Victor Umeh for second term; no man or spirit can stop his reelection in 2019”

They thanked him for the fatherly supports and morale booster he has been to them in chasing after their callings.

However, the Papal Knight of St. Sylvester, Senator Dr. Victor Umeh used the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the continued development of the institution as well as reaching out to the various religious organizations present, including the orphanages and old people’s homes represented by the various congregations.

He charged the novices to remain committed to their vocational callings and to uphold the noble principles being impacted them by their formators. He expressed optimism that from them would be raised great priests of God including bishops.

Nonetheless, it was more or less a homecoming for the senator who has a long-standing relationship with the institution and has contributed immensely to its development.
