Any attempt to rig Nov 18 election’ll meet with anarchy –council chair

The Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Don Unachukwu, has warned that any attempt to rig November 18, 2017 governorship election in the state will meet with stout resistance from the people.

He said the people would safeguard their votes from the agents of destruction who want to plunge the state into trouble by banking on rigging themselves in, assuring however that they will not succeed.

He said “I keep praying that we shall re- elect Obiano. We don’t want these wolves to take over the state. God has always been with us. We suppose to answer God`s state

Hon. Unachukwu predicted Governor Obiano’s victory in the November 18, 2017 governorship election, saying that Anambra people would not go back to Egypt again.

Unachukwu who spoke exclusively to Amatas Voice when the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) held its campaign rally at Ojoto, the Headquarters Local Government Area, Hon. Unuchukwu said with the overwhelming evidence of what Obiano has done, there is no reason why he should not be re-elected in a landside

Hon. Unachukwu said the Governor has done well virtually in every department that there was no reason why the people of Anambra state would not vote for him massively.

In area of agriculture, there has been massive investment through the ingenuity and efforts of Governor Obiano to the extent that the state now has Anambra-made-rice.

On education, the state has been winning awards in every area, a clear indication of the huge investment in the sector, saying that a teacher from Anambra state won the best teacher in Nigeria which is an eloquent testimony of Obiano`s educational programmes

Unachukwu said his Local Government was a beneficiary of Governor Obiano`s health programme of setting up and equipping of health centres, which was sited at Akabo, Ojoto.

Industries, he said, have been springing up here and there in the state through the effort of Governor Obiano`s think home Philosophy, which has attracted such investors like the Cosmas Maduka who set up his Coscharis farm in Ayamelum Local Government Area of the state.

He said Governor Obiano`s magic in securing lives and property in the state was yet to be equaled by any other state in the country as the state which was once a “den of robbers and kidnappers” have become haven of night life.

Unachukwu said before now violent robberies and kidnappings have become the order of the day that Anambra indigenes conduct marriages outside the state, but Obiano has changed all that.

“In communities and grass development, he was not lacking as he gave every community N20 million to develop their place and the ones which has finished theirs was given another grant of N20 million in the second phase, bringing the total money to N40 million. He also gave N10 million to all the markets in the state to carry out their projects,” he said

“In his report card, Obiano got hundred percent. I scored him that because in many ways, he has touched the lives of the people of the state. In payment of salaries, he is called alert Governor. He has paid workers, pensioners are paid their gratuities. With these, they want Anambra people to abandon Obiano? No, we can’t go back to Egypt,” he said.
